Meet Owen Robinson, owner of Southern World Window Cleaning
I'm Owen Robinson, owner of Southern World Window Cleaning. My journey to running a window cleaning business in New Zealand was not one I ever expected.
I came over from the UK for a holiday in February 2020 and ended up staying through lockdown. During that time I met my wife, and what began as a working holiday became a new life in the South Waikato.
Today, I'm proud to provide reliable window cleaning and exterior cleaning services to homeowners and businesses throughout the region.
The best part of the job is the people. I enjoy meeting local residents, having a chat while I work and driving through town knowing I've helped homes and businesses look their best.
There's real satisfaction in leaving every property cleaner, brighter and better cared for than when I arrived.
From one-man operation to close-knit family team
Southern World Window Cleaning started in 2024 with just Owen, a set of poles and plenty of support from his wife behind the scenes. Word quickly spread throughout the South Waikato and Matamata, and the workload grew steadily as satisfied customers continued to book regular cleaning services.
Today, Southern World Window Cleaning is a close knit team made up of family members and a long time family friend. Having recently relocated to Putāruru, around 20 minutes north of where the business began, the team is expanding into Hamilton and Cambridge while continuing to provide the same dependable service to long standing clients throughout the South Waikato.
Many of those customers have been with the business for years. Some have never even met Owen in person, happily leaving a door unlocked or a key in a safe place, knowing the job will be completed professionally and their property treated with respect.

Our equipment reflects the same standard. Carbon-fibre water-fed poles come from Gardiner Systems in the UK, and squeegees and applicators from Ettore, a German brand. Some specialist gear is brought in from an Australian supplier because it is simply better than what is available locally.

We operate Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and are happy to work early mornings, Saturdays or during school holidays when commercial clients need it.
